Aswell as playing violin solo and in a group Mr Kavanagh tested their aural skills by clapping a rhythm and singing a short melody which had to be repeated back by each boy individually. It was quite evident that the boys have a solid musical background from participating in violin, singing in the school choir or participating in music lessons with their teacher, Ms Ryan.
Céim 1 is equivalent to RIAM Preliminary Violin Exam
Céim 2 is equivalent to RIAM Primary/Grade 1 Exam.
The benefit of taking part in the Cara Awards is for students to experience an exam situation along with their friends, which sets a more relaxed tone. It is a stepping stone towards Graded examinations if the student feels he would like to pursue the instrument.
Certificates and feedback for each boy will arrive to the school in the next two to three weeks!
Well done again!
